Golf is Always in Season in Branson
By: Kim Worden

Any season is a good season for golf in Branson. Its central location, good weather, affordability and year-round courses offer tourists and residents alike a unique opportunity to enjoy a beloved game, while partaking of the beauty and landscape of Branson's picturesque Ozark views.

“We work hard to promote Branson as a golf destination,” says Cliff Easum, Thousand Hills Golf Resort‘s PGA golf professional. “Branson is easily accessible from so many locations. We have a wonderful variety of golf courses...all within 15 to 20 minutes of each other. There is literally a course that fits everyone‘s skill level and golf packages that fit everyone‘s budget.”

With seven world-class golf courses and a new 18-hole championship course on the way this year, Branson is a golf-lovers dream. Several of the award-winning area courses were designed by three of the top architects in America - Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio and Robert E. Cupp. “Each course is unique and exciting in its own way,” says Easum, “which is what makes Branson such a great place to golf. The area's dramatic elevation changes enhance the variety and challenge.”

Thousand Hills, a Robert E. Cupp-designed resort course, features immaculately manicured Zoysia fairways and tees that cater to veteran golfers, as well as ladies, seniors and casual players that might not play every day. An award-winning facility, it is considered the most challenging of all Branson courses. Its center-city location surrounded by the Ozarks’ natural beauty, coupled with outstanding comforts and amenities, make it a first-class golf facility. Weather permitting, its large Crenshaw Bentgrass greens are open every day except Christmas.
Holiday Hills, one of Branson‘s original golf courses, was built in 1938 and later rebuilt from tee to green in 1997. The “new” course, which is open year-round, features a variety of holes that appeal to the low and high handicapper. Attractive landscaping, lakes and creeks, waterfalls, and lush trees add to the enjoyment of golfing at Holiday Hills...a “must play” Branson course.

New to Branson is Murder Rock, an 18-hole golf course and development located in Hollister. The Payne Stewart Golf Club, an 18-hole Bobby Clampett signature course and development dedicated to the memory of golfing great, Payne Stewart, is slated to open in the new Branson Hills area this year.

“With expanded golf seasons and courses that are open year-round, there is always an opportunity to play golf in Branson,” adds Easum.
